There are others here with more knowledge of Korea and China markets in terms of AdWords. I haven't run any campaigns in those languages yet. Also, keeper's suggestion to use Korean characters for your searches is a good one. You might want to try using some very competitive keyword serarches and see if local language ads show up.
I know for a fact that you can run Japanese language AdWords. There are a bunch of threads here about that. As you say, Adwords lets you select languages and countries, but can I actually use Korean/Japanese/Chinese text in the ad?
