A number of business schools sponsor something akin to a law schools "moot court" where teams put together plans that are judged by best overall plan, best financial plan etc. I've found reading some of them helpful in putting together my own plan(s). One of the original competitions was at Austin Texas and its held annually. I don't think I'm allowed to give a URL but if one searches for "business plans moot texas" you'll get it.
