I'm getting a headache now...
I have a previous post on my business name coming up as not trademark-able after having it a year, so now I want to combine my blog entity with my business entity and use the blog domain name for the business.
The blog is labled as the official business blog and linked from the business domain, but I don't write to it often as I have strong political/christian/courtesy views that might not belong. When I do write to it, it is "work safe" and specific to a business discipline.
The name isn't descriptive of the business, although does it really matter?
From one perspective, I create a business persona that represents what I "want" my business to be. From another perspective (that leads me to the idea of combining), is many developers I follow and respect, run from one place. Business, family, recreation, creativity, instruction, successes and failures, all run from one place. "Here I am, I'm selling myself". If I'm a buyer, that sells way better than creating this entity that I step into and out of depending on what hat is on. The latter has more integrity. I like to deal with real people.
I'm just rambling... Posting on a forum helps me organize my thoughts, and if I get a useful reply it's a bonus. My business world is completely upside down right now.
Oh, and then there is the duplicate content issue when I take down the old business site and move it's content to the blog site. Arggg.
