Hi all

I'm looking for a little advice please.

A couple of years ago I developed a website for a client who is a limited UK company.

Since this time my company have managed all seo and online marketing.

The website is number on google for the clients desired keywords and he gets good business from this.

In August this year I found at least 15 websites sitting directly under my clients site on google for his company name keywords.

Someone has registered as a UK limited company using a very similar name and populated around 20 very spam looking websites with very similar text.

My clients company name is something like: ABC Widgets Hire Ltd
and was registered around 6 years ago with companies house.

The new company has registered: ABC Wigets Ltd in August this year.

The nature of the business is exactly the same but they are an affiliate.

The company has around 20 sites with domains names such as londonwigetshire, birminghamwigetshire ie. picking up major UK cities.

The actual website are very spammy with stuffed keywords and text taken from my site, apart from the city name, each of the 20 sites are really duplicates.

My client is seriously losing business due to the other websites using a similar company name.

Also, he is getting phone calls from irate customers who have booked to hire widgets with the other company but they haven't been delivered and they are calling up my client by mistake.

The other company looks to be blatently ripping off my clients business but failing to provide any level of service.

I have filed a basic spam report to google but as of yet seen no action.

Can anyone offer advice on how to approach this matter.
