This sort of ties in with something that redzone said in the "$95million SEO firm" thread

Got this e-mail yesterday. I'll print an excerpt.
"(How do you) keep us listed at the top of search engines?... I have spoken to internet providers and been told that one can buy a disc and no manpower time needs to be used. I would like to know."

Sheesh. The question is fine by me. But that statement? I'd love to know which software that is. What IP would say that? And NO manpower???? Hello? Does the disc float into its tray all by itself, auto-install, check your rank against the competition, analyse what they're doing and apply it to your site, FTP it over then wait for a re-index. Then start again??
The person who wrote that comes from a no-idea-about-PCs-or-the-Internet background so it's not their fault that they've been fed duff info, but the statement at the end is sooooooo vague I can't think of a way of replying to them without appearing ultra-sarcastic or incidentally impuning my clients grey matter. Every time I start to think about a response I get a mental 404/time out....................(whoops, just got another one.)
Oh well, I just hope that this 'disc' doesn't team up with the automatic gun, the self-designing robots, and that robot that runs on meat. :)
