They've contributed more than $1 Billion in cash and $5 Billion in free product to charities around the world over the years. People hate Microsoft because they're big, plain and simple. If every Microsoft product was 100% bug free and exceeded every other operating system or similar product in performance, quality, and ease of use, the same people that hate them now would find another reason to hate them. Ironically, most of you who are MS haters fail to realize that this board and probably your job as a web designer wouldn't EXIST if it wasn't for Gates' dream of having a computer connected to the Internet in every home and business - afterall, if there wasn't a PC in nearly home businesses wouldn't care to be on the Internet. You have Microsoft to thank for that, my friends.
You forgot their $344 Million software donation to train 400,000 teachers. And their $7 Million software donation to help 9 non-profit organizations improve their technology infrastructure. And the $1.3M cash donation to Goodwill, $10 Million cash donation to the 9/11 disaster relief, $100 Million cash donation to the Boys & Girls club, and the list goes on and on.
