Windows XP is not going to be around in significant numbers much longer. Remaining corporate installs will disappear when its EOL next year.
It is also 12 years old! It is roughly the same age as OS X 10.0 (i.e. the very first version of Apple's OS) and older than the first versions of Fedora or Ubuntu. Even Debian (known for its long upgrade cycle) has managed six releases in that time.
It has no app store and terrible security. For almost everyone there is a much better alternative by now.
