My two most popular articles have taken a huge hit over recent months. Both are considerably more detailed and informative than the sites that are now beating them. Both are around 1,200 words in length.
I am wondering if it's possible that Google are penalising articles that are too long? I can't understand why they would otherwise replace these articles with shorter/less informative ones?
What about splitting them up into shorter pages? That's a bit of a bugbear of mine. I don't like reading an article over several pages, but maybe Google prefers that?
