Once this negative seo technique spreads to other places...places where they can alter the user-agent, I won't have that option.
Unless you take the time to learn enough about what you're doing to know you could go by IP Range too. Is it Google's fault you don't know that? Or would it be mine if I didn't bother to tell you how to defeat something without the UA being the same when you own and operate a site you would like to make money from?
Google didn't tell you to build a website. They don't make the rules about what's acceptable and what's not for a proxy server. They know way more about their job, web protocol and websites than you do. Don't blame them (or anyone) for taking the time to learn and know the rules and know what to do in different situations when you haven't bothered to, please.
