Maybe for an outlandish April Fools, Google could have come out with a statement along the lines of
"Google have given too much weight to brands to the detriment of diversity. That was wrong. We're now going to judge each domain purely on its own merits, regardless of brand signal - and give the searcher the BEST, most diverse, results"
(this April Fools would work best if Google dialled up the host crowding for brands even more at the very same time)
