Currently seeing a Facebook page outranking the actual company website. Anyone else seeing this?
How can this be possible? Some type of penalty on the actual website or what? I would think Google is smart enough to actually figure out the connection between the two. From what I can tell the FB page is linked on every page of the website in the footer as is somewhat typical these days along with other social networks. As far as being linked from other places I do not know.
Is this an example/proof that analytics are being used to determine rank of pages/sites? If social was a factor then it would be safe to assume the actual website would be affected not the FB page.
Interesting to say the least... haven't noticed it anywhere else. Only came across this as it is in my niche and familiar with the company for quite some time.
