Longtime reader. First time poster.
Own site with numerous page 1 Google SERPS in various product categories. Long story short - bad communication from our hosting company resulted in short-term domain expiry which took our site off the index. Back online now, but concerned about the best way to attempt to recover the previous serps?
I'm worried if I resubmit the site to prompt a full reindex by Google, the algo will treat us as a new site and we'll lose ranking position? Is it best just to be patient or is there something I can do to help expedite matters?
Further, are we facing the reality that we simply won't recover the serps we had before because of the 'age' factor? For background, the site has a considerably higher page count and breadth of content that any competitor in our niche, so I'm hopeful the site structure will win out in the end?
Any help, suggestions or input anyone can provide are greatly appreciated. Talk about a stress pill!
