What is he talking about "use 301 or a link"?! 301 is an automatic redirect (if your browser follows those automatically which most do), and link needs to be clicked at. Who in the world would use them interchangeably and why?

Also, interestingly, he keeps using the word "dissipates" in terms of PR. So, was he actually thinking about the page which has the link, not the page linked to?

Perhaps my caffeine is still waiting to kick in today but I feel like I'm more confused now than I was before I saw this.
