If I search for "accommodation some-town-not-in-uk" then google.com does not return results geotargeted for UK.
If your "some-town-not-in-uk" is Havana, the difference between .co.uk and .com is dramatic, both in real results and ads. Especially noticeable because I deliberately used a different browser so I didn't benefit from my ordinary ad blocker. The .com version could only come up with one ad in the main results area, while the .co.uk version had a fistful-- including one citing a price in pounds.
I'd expected this thread to have garnered many more posts since I last read it about 3 hours ago before leaving for the library. But after ::cough-cough:: being deflected by Zamboni, I understand the silence.
