...crushing their own rankings by constantly clicking on the competition for the phrases they want to rank for?
Why would anyone click on a competitor's site in a keyword search? To see what has changed from five minutes ago, an hour ago, a day ago? Who does that? I don't think anyone repeatedly checks the SERPs then repeatedly clicks though to the site. What is the motivation, what would they be expecting to find?
