I am not sure this will help anyone but part of what we are struggling with is Google's LSI algorithm as well. For example, I have the #1 spot for "home widgets" (obviously not anywhere close to the real keyword) I have the #2 spot for "home widget" and the #3 spot for "widget for home". What I find interesting is that if you add the plural "Widgets for home" I move up 1 spot, if you remove the "for" I move up 1 spot. It makes it pretty tough to target exact keywords.
