I think a lot of SEO people, especially those of us who have been at this for a long time, are having a hard time recognizing on page overoptimization. A lot of the normal seo on page things we did for so long were the "correct" things to do and it's hard to break a 10+ year old way of thinking.
I recently heavily deoptimized one -950 site and we'll see what happens.
Did you deoptimize the entire site or just the home page or what percent of pages?
