I can give some insight into this based on 5-7 years ago as it has been so long ago I really don't remember the time. I had a site hit with this one it was a manual review that got the site knocked. I am 100% sure of this.
It took 2 years to come out of it back then. With the new changes in Google I am afraid to guess the time now.
Mrsavage it would be a very good test to keep tabs with. All the new algo changes might just help in the speed of recovery, I really have no idea just repoting how long it took me to get out from under it.
Back then went from 950 to 60 to 30 to out.
