Doesn't the timing coincide with the EMD adjustment?
I'd be looking at whether there is reduced competition for your preferred keyphrases, but I'd certainly be storing ALL data I had the ability to access for evaluation and re-evaluation. If "after" is good, you want to find the determining factor that differs from "before".
