Is there any EMD who lost rankings in this update for query terms other than their domain's exact match term?
Not as simple as it sounds to answer that. Say one of my EMDs was lightbluewidget.com. I have lost rankings for:
light blue widget light blue widgets large light blue wigdets large blue light widgets large widgets that are light and blue green and blue widgets. etc.
In other words most queries which have any one of the words or any combination of them have lost ranking.
But on another EMD, say widget-instructions.com, I have lost ranking for
blue widgets green widgets red widgets etc.
but NOT for
can you paint widgets paint widget painting widgets spraying widgets and various combinations of those above. I still remain number 1 in the SERPS for almost any combination of the last lot of queries.
But for the EMD term where I have lost ranking then I appear as the last entry in the SERPs, position 780.
Bizarrely, when I enter the EMD term into G three entries for my site appear around the 200 mark and they are:
Indian widget widget alla Barcelona widget con salto
I.E foreign sounding versions of the widget.
Having done that analysis, I am even further away from understanding what is going on and what criteria G have used to rank my sites.
None of my sites seem to have ever been affected by Penguin, Panda or antyhing else. For the EMDs the drop occurred on 29th September, possibly late on the 28th.
