6 or 7 sites that I monitor will gradually float from around page 15 up to page 4 or 5, then drop again. This happens over the period of several days or perhaps a week. Yesterday, one of those sites had made it to page 3; now today it's gone, but I know it will be back based on observing this pattern for 2 or 3 weeks now. I think this may help to explain the rolling pattern some of us see in the stats. I just don't understand why it's happening, unless pages 4+ are a testbed or if we are seeing an iterative process leading up to some update.
