it doesnt look too bad at the moment, because each of those clickable pictures at the top of the SERPs only lead to another SERPs page.

its when those pictures lead directly to another google property, thats when the trouble will start. imagine if someone searched for "new york hotels", and google put pictures of all the hotels at the top. if each of those pictures led directly to the hotel's own google+ page, then people are going to start losing loads of traffic.

im guessing that is where we are heading.
