@rango - I see sites ranked differently depending on the device and browser I use so I think it is going on already. My site ranks lower on my iPhone and I don't (yet) have a mobile site so my site is slow on iPhone, quicker on a laptop using IE and quicker still using Chrome. It makes sense that Google would rank my site lower on a mobile device if my competitors have mobile sites that are faster and nicer to use than my full site (or their full versions are quicker and nicer to use).
