I've read that website speed directly affects conversion rate:

According to the Aberdeen Group, a 1-second delay in page-load time equals 11% fewer page views, a 16% decrease in customer satisfaction, and 7% loss in conversions

Could a connection issue with a server or an isp issue cause a decline in conversion rates? Yes. Our servers are located in southern California.
