Given the current SERPs, how do you search for commentary ABOUT a branded product? Do you always need to include words like "review" - and is that intuitive for the average user?

I have been adding "forum" or "blog" or "review". Even those aren't giving me what I need. It's not only branded products where I have to append those words. Sometimes I want to read about personal experiences (for example, medical, surgery, etc).
