The underlying mechanism (traffic quantity Vs quality) is complicated. The top performers are converting better while the duds are getting less traffic.

Thanks for sharing that much - no doubt it is complicated! I'm still stuck between thinking it's something Google does intentionally and thinking it's an accidental artifact of the machine learning that their statisticians use so much.
