Google trends can easily show what to expect for the travel industry seasonality. Here is the graph for people searching for the word "hotels":
I don't really know why the year over year trend on that is going down. Maybe less people are searching for single word phrases each year? But the shape of the graph is very predictable within each year.
It is at the low point at Christmas. It rockets up in January and gently drops for until mid May. Then it picks up again for the summer to hit new highs in August. Then it drops throughout the fall to abysmal lows around Christmas time.
If you are in the travel industry, you end up planning around this schedule. Big releases in the fall when there are fewer visitors. Plan for capacity in January and August.
