I'm seeing two completely different sets of results in the UK which are flicking from set A to B and back every few hours. Our site is #1 for our key term on set A, and #19 on set B.
UK traffic accounts for almost 100% when set A is live, set B gives approximately 30% less traffic, but its from all over the world.
Looking at the keyword data, it appears we must go from ranking well for a range of keywords in the UK (set A) to ranking well for the same (or similar) set of keywords everywhere but the UK (Set B).
The reason I think this is the majority of terms people use to find our site are UK specific, that is while the widgets we promote exist worldwide, we have our own name for the in the UK. This explains the lower traffic overall despite the increase in exposure in non UK markets that Set B brings.
