Fantastic post. I think there is a shift happening as a result of the changes that Google are making. A lot of SEOs are looking into PPC as a career, others are thinking about doing something different almost entirely. I too have considered moving away from online to traditional advertising. I'm sorry to say that Google are going to put a lot of people out of business and as you rightly say the ones that depend on 'free' traffic will be hit the worst.
