Well I was dubious about Google+, but it's clear that some parts of it are wildly successful - especially Google+ hangouts.

If you've got time, have a look at the following video interview (about 30 minutes long) of a musician who got her break doing live concerts in Google+ hangouts.

The hangouts thing is something that Facebook (and MySpace) don't offer, and it's pulling in a crowd of people to register with Google+ just to participate in the hangouts. Which means Google+ is going to grow and is here to stay.

If you are in a social niche where your customers/audience crave interaction, then G+ Hangouts is something to think about.
