I never got the impression it would display the count in the SERPs, does it? I haven't seen one yet.

As far as on sites, you can disable the count (which I did, because nobody clicks on stupid thing because Google hasn't advertised it properly)

I don't particularly WANT my competitors to know how many +1 clicks I have or don't have.
