Be aware of Google's commercial motives, be very aware. Seperate it from the purism of search quality and the teams that attempt to set this right. I remain convinced Panda was and is an ancillary strategy to push more websites ultimately into using Adwords.
Specific targeting , trophy keywords ... yes I've seen that too.
