I have a blog where I often post about updates, for instance when a new version of widget x is out, or when a widget has changed so much that it requires a new review. Up until now I have just added another post to my blog and did nothing else. This is probably not the best method SEO-wise, and I was wondering if you could recommend one.
I'm currently thinking about the following options:
> Update the original article instead of writing a new one. Pro: has already link juice, age. Con: Blog is not updated
> Link from the old to the new. Pro: Passes on link juice, visitors who visit the old article know that there is new information available. Con: Two articles that are very similar on site
> Redirect old article to new one with 301. Pro: Passes link juice, visitors get redirect to the new up to date review. Con: Overuse could be seen as trying to game the Serps, maybe?
Search engine wise, what would you say is the best option? Is there one that I have not mentioned?
