But thinking back a few years to the old days when Google only took us to the dance once a month or so, this may not be such a new time frame.

It has been over 2 months already, and IMO is done on purpose to penalize sites, content farms or innocent ones.

Remember it took Google 2+ months after the penalty to say that our sites should be like Apple products and pages like mini-PHD dissertations. Unless we're Amazon, Mayo Clinic or Huff Post. And they only commented as PR move, after getting bad press for hurting small businesses.
