Thin isn't a death sentence, the statistics being thrown around just don't back up that assumption and it's not thin site owners out in droves complaining right now.
That doesn't mean it's not "thin is the problem" but at most it's "thin in the wrong places, like the index page, is a problem". IMO thin includes ads and affiliate offers so LOTS of those is still thin.
I'm sick of hearing about eHow, my 7 year old nephew has written better pages than they have on some subjects, he just can't pump out 100,000+ of them a month though, like ehow. If he could we'd have a 7 year old wallstreet millionaire which exemplifies the fact that something is wrong.
To me it's like a rich bully forcing poor kids to get handouts at the church for him. Bulk cheap.
I think sites received a cumulative grade which became part of their overall metrics and their rank fluctuates within that grade to a larger extent now. I'm hoping the test gets run again soon, and frequently, it's like a glass ceiling. It doesn't matter what was graded because the report card hits after study time is finished, there is no going back at least until next semester, assuming there will be another test. Until then your pay grade is stuck in a rank grade.
