dickbaker, I definitely hear what you're saying. I know in my case that going back through my older pages I found a bunch that were not only "thin" but also rather embarrassing.

I feel better having deleted them –– whether Bing or Yahoo liked them or not –– than having people surf onto my site via one of those cruddy pages.

All of those pages now serve a 410.

Stronger pages, ones which I am proud of and think are good –– whether or not Google likes them –– have been left in their place.

For me, what this algo change has done is cause me to re-consider a lot of my oldest content. To my chagrin, much of that old content was garbage. YMMV.
