Thanks Brinked. I'm just trying to get a perspective on what's been going on. We know the blog/indexing issue hit around the 18th but I believe it was more than that. Results had started to jump just prior to that, and got much worse right after. They seem to be improving now after hitting all time lows. For about a month bing was pulling huge increases on our site. We noticed improvements in google and bing referrals have steadied.
Algo update, indexing problem, whatever...this was disruptive on a scale I've never seen before as a searcher and web worker. That said if the end result is much lower bounce rates on the same traffic levels bravo.
As I look through the data the keywords are so close but the intent must be understood as different in google somehow through profiling. On the same number of google visits the number of carts Friday went from 107 to 318 YoY.
I think a lot of individual pieces got glued together for this holiday and they just haven't told us yet until it's gone through every part of the index. If this is what all of the turmoil has been about and next week it rides through the web I will tip my cap to mountain view. Cross your fingers let's see how this plays out
