Similar yes, but the results are not from advertisers like was the case with Bing's Cashback program.

On another wavelength, does anyone have any ideas on how Google differentiates a "Brand" from a "Store"?

Ted it's funny because I've seen some odd things with both. In one instance I've seen a store shown as a brand when they certainly are not a brand. Also, not quite sure, but it seems this one store that is not a brand also has adwords campaigns that utilize picture adwords and they use Google checkout. Not sure if either are the reason but just thought I'd mention it.
