I wouldn't underestimate Bing's drive in this direction, either - or Facebook's or Twitter's, or... Personalization is all the rage these days (especially for advertising). It's just that everyone's attention is all over Google right now.

I'm beginning to think that Eric Schmidt is NOT putting his foot in his mouth over and over. His repeated and disturbing comments about privacy may be part of an intentionally constructed "social engineering" campaign.
