Google patents a system for identifying areas where there is inadequate content.

If they use this:

1) They have the best data to base the results on
2) Its bad news for people doing it at the moment.
3) If access to the results is available free or reasonably priced to could be good news for the rest of us.

Option 3) is not improbable as I doubt Google want to get into writing content.
