If you are using Google Analytics on a site, consider the new Asynchronous Tracking Code [google.com] code that became available to all GA users last December.

The first benefit Google mentioned about this new code is "Faster overall page load time". Given the slow-down that is sometimes caused by original Google Analytics code, this seems like a good thing to look at. It also allows you to put the Analytics snippet higher in the page's source code without delaying the rest of the content.
