I think the point of this board is so that we can, in a sense, monitor a variety of sites

Yes, absolutely. Actionable data and collated resources are all well and good.
"Penalties of type X are being released"
"Low PR, but topic-focussed pages are replacing high-PR homepages (from same site) on some searches"

What's not useful is
"There have been some ranking changes on my site"

No way to know anything about those pages, the site structure, recent onsite changes, or any other site-specific information.

I don't mean to have a go at gouri, but non-contextual information adds nothing to to the pooled dataset, and individual ranking adjustments imply nothing of the system
