I've got to agree. It's actually what the song I referenced is about, and you really do have to not care or think about or worry about or give a thought to what other people think if you're going to make it on your own...

As far as laughing last... Being able to say: Hey, remember when I was working for pennies a day and you were laughing? Now I can not work and make dollars every day, what do you do again? Sounds like fun to me :)

I have to agree with the don't overreact to SERP changes part of your post too... This is the time of year I usually look at results if I see something totally different think, 'How Interesting?', knowing my rankings are what they are right now without really worrying about them.
