I think you're mixing two different things. If I'm on a slow connection, I care more about page weight than about response times. If I'm on a fast connection, response times matter more than page weight. Similarly, if I'm on a satellite connection, the number of objects (indpendent of page weight) matters more because of latency than it does if I'm on a wired connection, either slow or fast. But to answer your question: if I were on a slow connection and every page had a note that said "Objects 32; Size 200kb" I would use that data in deciding where to click. If it said "Avg response: 100ms" I'm not sure I would.
