So if PR is supposed to NOT have an affect on your rankings why in the he** is everone all over it like tween on the phone?

i have some PR issues, such as,

https://www.example.com/thispage.asp has a PR6,

and not secure,

http://www.example.com/thispage.asp has a PR4,

and i really dont give a crap, becuase i rank pretty damn well for all of my key phrases and seem to be moving up slowly but surely.

people keep telling me i have serious duplicate content issues, but it doesnt seemt to be affecting my ranks.

whats the deal?

why is everyone scattering when the PR drops or goes to 0 if its not affecting overall ranking?
