---- Where to host videos for best Google SEO

I am planning to integrate some self-made videos into the service-section of our otherwise completely commercial website. Should I host them myself, or upload to youtube? What is the best strategy with respect to

a) SEO
b) performance
c) copyright

A) I don't spend much time on youtube actually, so I am not familiar with the SEO-questions involved. Will I get a backlink to my site on the page where the video is shown? Does that page have an idempotent URL with decent pagerank, and might thus probably become the strongest backlink I ever got? I'm sure I will reach a much wider audience, but will that page likewise get even more backlinks dropped in forums and such?

B) In the past we had an average of 300-500 pageviews per day in that section with a peak of 8000-10000 views on one specific day of the year. I am running a managed server.

C) I wouldn't want competitors to embed my stuff on their website. I'm afraid uploading to youtube implicitly means they may and probably will do so?
