For those using Google alerts, you may be interested to know that you can now get these delivered in RSS rather than email format. Very handy if you have a lot of alerts running and don't want them clogging up your inbox.

For some reason I don't see this as an option when creating a new alert, but if you go to the Alerts management page [google.com] you can choose "edit" and then "deliver to" to select RSS format for existing alerts.

For those not using Google alerts, give them a go, they're useful ;)
