You can submit more than just porducts, including services, schedules, events, housing, jobs, news, recipies, etc, etc, etc. I think you can even define a custom type.

The content you submit must be owned by you, so no affiliate stuff.

If you sign in to Google Base and begin the setup process you can see a full list of the items you can submit.
