In July we started doing a product feed to Google Base and quickly saw our site listed in "Shopping Result" for a number of our product names (red widgets, large green widgets). Then we resubmitted, adding a few products but leaving the existing product descriptions unchanged. Our pages dropped out of the 3 item "shopping Results". Our pages still appear on the results of clicking on the link "Shopping Results", and they still appear if you click the "shopping" link above the Google logo. One of my clients is a small site of about 20 pages, selling a product. Our position on Google search results has been good for such a small site: second or third for several of the keyword phrases we target. Question 2: Are other sites selling much by submitting to Google Base, or is this not productive? Question 3: Do other sites find Google checkout increases sales?
Question 1: how does Google determine what is listed in the "Shopping Results" 3 item lising which is usually just below paid sponsors?
