The timing might seem suggestive, but I have doubts that anything you do with meta keywords can affect ranking.

However, I'm not sure what you did, exactly:

Thread title: "Removed Meta Keywords"
Post says: "I changed at the site wide level to show more keywords"

Can you clarify? And did you make any other changes to your exisitng pages at the same time?
